# TikTok Post

<!-- meta: type=tiktok-post; location=Social › TikTok; category=Step (action); platforms=Joomla and WordPress (where applicable) -->

## Overview

TikTok Post is a **Step (action)** in **Social › TikTok**. Direct-posts a video to TikTok via the Content Posting API.

When the flow reaches this step, JOrchestrator executes **TikTok Post** against your linked site or an external integration, using the field values you set on **General** and **Design**. Downstream steps can read the output payload fields defined for this node.

## Why use this node

TikTok Post is a **action step** in the **Social › TikTok** group. Action steps run in the middle or end of a flow. They perform work on your CMS, call external services, or transform data for the next step.

Typical reasons teams add **TikTok Post** to a flow:

- Automate "TikTok Post" as part of a larger Joomla or WordPress workflow
- Replace manual tiktok work with a repeatable, logged flow step
- Chain with triggers, logic, and messaging nodes on the same canvas

## Example workflows

Common patterns on the canvas:

1. **Trigger or Webhook** → upstream steps → **TikTok Post** → **Send Email** or CMS update
2. **Scheduled trigger** → **TikTok Post** → **Debug** (while testing) → production action

## How to set it up

OAuth access token with video.publish scope in Node Configuration → TikTok. Set Video transfer to pull from URL (verified https domain) or file upload (URL/base64 from upstream). Caption and privacy level on the Design tab.

## Good to know

Query Creator Info first for allowed privacy levels. Enable Poll until complete to wait for PUBLISH_COMPLETE before the flow continues.

## Properties panel

The designer shows these tabs for this node:

| Tab | Purpose |
|-----|---------|
| **Info** | Plain-language description and output payload fields for downstream steps |
| **General** | Canvas label and read-only node ID |
| **AI** | Optional assistant to help draft settings from plain language |
| **Design** | Node-specific configuration fields |

### System (automatic — not edited by the user)

These fields are managed by the designer or runtime — you do not type into them directly:

| Property key | Label | Type | Required | Visible when | Notes |
|--------------|-------|------|----------|--------------|-------|
| `_nodeId` | Node ID | `node-id` | No | — | — |
| `_payloadFields` | Available Fields | `payload-panel` | No | — | — |

### User-configured — General tab

| Property key | Label | Type | Required | Visible when | Notes |
|--------------|-------|------|----------|--------------|-------|
| `label` | Label | `text` | No | — | Node label |

### User-configured — Design tab

| Property key | Label | Type | Required | Visible when | Notes |
|--------------|-------|------|----------|--------------|-------|
| `videoTransfer` | Video transfer | `select` (`pull_from_url` \| `file_upload`; default: `pull_from_url`) | No | — | Pull from URL sends a verified https URL to TikTok. File upload loads bytes from URL/base64 then uploads in chunks. |
| `videoSource` | Video source | `textarea` | **Yes** | — | https://cdn.example.com/video.mp4 or {{node.videoUrl}} — or base64 / data:video/* for file upload |
| `title` | Caption | `textarea` | No | — | Caption with #hashtags and @mentions |
| `privacyLevel` | Privacy level | `select` (`PUBLIC_TO_EVERYONE` \| `MUTUAL_FOLLOW_FRIENDS` \| `FOLLOWER_OF_CREATOR` \| `SELF_ONLY`; default: `PUBLIC_TO_EVERYONE`) | No | — | Use TikTok Creator Info node to see which levels the account allows. |
| `disableComment` | Disable comments | `select` (`true` \| `false`; default: `false`) | No | — | — |
| `disableDuet` | Disable duet | `select` (`true` \| `false`; default: `false`) | No | — | — |
| `disableStitch` | Disable stitch | `select` (`true` \| `false`; default: `false`) | No | — | — |
| `videoCoverTimestampMs` | Cover timestamp (ms, optional) | `payload-text` | No | — | 1000 |
| `pollUntilComplete` | Poll until complete | `select` (`true` \| `false`; default: `false`) | No | — | When enabled, the node waits until status is PUBLISH_COMPLETE (or FAILED) before continuing. |
| `pollIntervalSeconds` | Poll interval (seconds) | `number` (default: `5`) | No | — | — |
| `maxPollAttempts` | Max poll attempts | `number` (default: `60`) | No | — | — |

### CMS site configuration (not on this node's properties panel)

Credentials, API keys, mailers, SMTP, and integration defaults are configured in the CMS plugin under **Node Configuration**, not per step on this node. Link the flow to a domain before testing CMS-backed fields.

## Output payload fields

After this step runs, later nodes can reference these fields using placeholders such as
`{{tiktok_post.success}}`.

| Field key | Type | Description |
|-----------|------|-------------|
| `success` | boolean | Whether the operation completed successfully. |
| `publishId` | string | Text value from this node's output. |
| `status` | string | HTTP status code or operation status string. |
| `title` | string | Title text for the created or updated record. |
| `privacyLevel` | string | Text value from this node's output. |
| `videoTransfer` | string | Text value from this node's output. |
| `message` | string | Human-readable status, error, or result summary. |

## Validation rules

- **Video source** (`videoSource`) must be filled before the flow can be saved.
