Use case

Publish a Joomla article from a workflow

A concrete Joomla automation: inbound webhook or schedule → Create Article → Publish Article → notify. No content plugin required.

The job

A form, PIM, or editorial calendar already has the title and body. You want a Joomla article to exist — and optionally go live — without a developer pasting into the admin or writing a content plugin.

This is the highest-leverage Joomla automation for agencies: one flow, reused per client domain.

The flow

Keep the first version linear. Add If nodes only when you need “draft vs published” or category routing.

  • Webhook (or a hosted schedule) receives title, introtext, fulltext, category id
  • Create Article writes the Joomla article on the linked site
  • Publish Article sets state to published when the payload says go-live
  • Send Email or Send Notification tells the editor the URL

When to start from a Joomla event instead

If the article is created in Joomla first, invert the flow: Content After Save → If (new + featured) → notify / sync. That is still Joomla workflow automation; the trigger is onContentAfterSave rather than an inbound HTTP call.

FAQ

Yes. Stop after Create Article, or branch with If on a `publish` flag in the webhook payload. Editors finish the piece in Joomla.

Optional. Add Trigger Workflow at the end if the site uses native workflow states after the canvas has written the article.

Ship the article flow

Open a canvas, drop Webhook → Create Article, and link a Joomla domain.
