Use case

Scheduled Joomla content with receipts

Joomla workflow automation on a timetable: hosted cron starts the flow, AI or media nodes prepare the asset, article or banner nodes update the live site.

The job

You want the homepage banner or a daily article to change without someone logging into Joomla. CLI cron can hit a URL; it will not show retries, charts, or the rest of the workflow.

JOrchestrator’s hosted scheduler starts the same canvas you use for events. The Joomla site only has to be reachable — including through a LAN tunnel.

The flow

A typical daily Joomla automation looks like this:

  • Hosted schedule fires at 06:30 in the site timezone
  • Optional AI or Generative Video node drafts copy or a still
  • Create Article or a banner/media node writes the CMS
  • Publish Article (or publish banner) makes it live
  • Debug stays on while you test; remove it for production

Why not only Joomla cron?

Joomla scheduled publishing is fine for a known go-live date on one article. It is a poor workflow engine: no AI step, no Slack receipt, no “if the image job failed, do not publish”. Those branches are why this is a flow.

FAQ

No. The hosted scheduler triggers the flow. CMS Webcron is available on paid plans if you prefer the site to pull. Either way you get logs and retries on the canvas.

Yes — swap in WordPress nodes such as Update Post and Publish Post. The timetable is platform-agnostic.
